[First published after having received the assent of the Governor of the [5][Khyber Pakhtunkhwa] in the Gazette of [6][Khyber Pakhtunkhwa] (Extraordinary), dated the 18th July, 1989].

 

AN

ACT

to provide for appointment of Advisers and

Special Assistants to the Chief Minister.

 

           

Preamble.

WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for appointment of Advisers and Special Assistants to the Chief Minister in the public interest;

 

            It is hereby enacted as follows:-

 

Short title and commencement

1.         (1) This Act may be called the [7][Khyber Pakhtunkhwa] Advisers and Special Assistants to the Chief Minister (Appointment) Act, 1989.

 

            (2)        It shall come into force at once.

 

Definitions.

2.      In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires:-

 

(a)        “Chief Minister” means the Chief Minister of the [8][Khyber Pakhtunkhwa]; and

 

(b)        “Governor” means the Governor of the [9][Khyber Pakhtunkhwa].

 

Advisers,Speci-al Assistants to the Chief Minister.

3.      (1) To assist the Chief Minister in the performance of his functions, the Governor may, on the advice of the Chief Minister, appoint as many persons as he considers necessary to be Advisers and Special Assistants to the Chief Minister.

 

            (2)        An Advisor or Special Assistant to the Chief Minister shall hold office during the pleasure of the Chief Minister and shall be entitled to such remunerations and privileges as the Chief Minister may determine.

 

            (3)        An Adviser or Special Assistant to the Chief Minister shall perform such

functions as may be assigned to him by the Chief Minister from time to time.

 

Repeal.

4.            1[The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa] Advisers and Special Assistants to the Chief Minister (Appointment) Ordinance, 1989    2[Khyber Pakhtunkhwa] Ordinance No. IV of 1989) is hereby repealed.
