A
REGULATION
to extend certain laws
to Dir State.
WHEREAS by the provisions of clause(iv) of sub-section (1) of section 2
of the Establishment of West Pakistan Act, 1955, the teritories of the State
of Dir were, on the fourteenth day of October, 1955, incorporated into the
Province of West Pakistan:

AND WHEREAS the aforesaid territories form a Special Area within the
meaning of clause (1) of Article 218 of the late Constitution as continued by
the Laws (Continuance in Force) Order, 1958.
AND
WHEREAS for the peace and good Government of the aforesaid Special Area,
it is expedient to extend certain laws thereto;
AND
WHEREAS clause (2) of Article 104 of the late Constitution, continued as
aforesaid, provides that the Governor may within the previous approval of the
President, make regulations for the peace and good government for a Special
Area:
NOW,
THEREFORE, the Governor of West Pakistan, with the previous approval of
the President, is pleased to make the following Regulation:—

1.
(1) This Regulation may be called the Dir (Extension of Laws)
Regulation, 1961.
|
Short title extent and commencement.
|
(2) It extends to the territories of the State of Dir as
defined in the Schedule to the Dir (Advisory Council)Regulation, 1960.(Regulation
No.II of 1960).
(3) It
shall come into force on such date as may be appointed by Government in this
behalf.
|

2. The
enactments mentioned in column 2 of the Schedule hereto, and all rules,
notifications, declarations, resolutions and orders made there under shall,
subject to the modification stated in column 3 of the Schedule,
extend to the territories or the State of Dir.

Extension of laws to Dir State.
|
3. If
immediately before the extension by this Regulation of any enactment to the
territories or the State or Dir there is in force in the said territories any
law corresponding to the enactment so extended or, the rules, notifications,
declarations, resolutions and orders made under the said enactment, then the
corresponding law shall cease, to have, effect.
